Psychometric Properties of the Online Global Symptoms Scale
Summary: With the development of new technologies in the field of psychotherapy comes the need for valid and reliable tests that allow us to investigate the presence of symptoms in an online format. The aim of the study was to develop a scale to evaluate symptoms of anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationships and psychoticism. A total of 550 adults participated, who responded to an online questionnaire that included four dimensions (anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationships, psychoticism). The OQ-45 and SA-45 tests were used to analyze external validity. Adequate internal consistency and construct validity were observed for the four dimensions evaluated. Likewise, for external validity, significant relationships were found with the OQ-45 and SA-45. The test constructed is adequate for the evaluation of symptoms, and therefore a valid tool for psychotherapeutic use. However, it is necessary to continue analyzing its psychometric properties in patients with the diagnoses investigated.
